Dot Sticker Scalloped Border Tutorial

This is a little something that I came up with today. I don't have a fancy scallop punch so I made up my own scallop border. Here's how I did it:
Step 1 Place 3/4" dot stickers from the office supply store on the bottom of your paper. Be careful to line them up so they don't overlap and they just barely touch the bottom.

Step 2. Cut off the paper under the dots. Then peel off stickers and decorate your card.

This is my finished card. Paper: Paper Bouquet in sky/cloud
Stamp: Elegant "Thank You" from Rubber Stampede
Tan Prima flower
Light Blue flower: Target
Brad: Making Memories
Double Faced 7/8" satin brown ribbon

Red and White Toile Card

I was feeling a little out of my muse today until I read about Tami's color challenge going on. Her red/white challenge jumped out at me. I love red and white and I love all things French so here is my version:
Toile stamp: All Night Media
Corner stamp: Rubber Stampede
I also tried the faux ticket punch technique and some of Stampin' Kub's photo tutorial advice. What do you think of my photo editing?

Fall Preview

Poopy scanner. The bg color is really a bright yellow/orange. I colored the image with Prismas. Fall is my favorite season. Too bad we don't have fall in the OC. I love the leaves, harvest moon and crisp sweater weather.

Blessed Day

I've had a pretty cloudy week but some sunshine came today. First, there was a fun delivery: An Edible Bouquet. It was a gift from my mum's work. Yum yum. The strawberries were naked and chocolate covered and the other fruit was super juicy and fresh. Then, the mail came. I got my June recipes from the Recipea swap. All 20 were fabulous (as usual) and the hostess, Lisa, sent some super fun ribbon from Hobby Lobby (or, as I call it, Heaven On Earth) as a gift for taking her around town when she came out here from Colorado a couple weeks ago. Super sweet. Then, I opened my prize from Alicia for being a runner up in her blog candy contest. I got 3 great stamps. 2 baby stamps and a birthday stamp. Super fun.

Fiesta Card

I bought some vintage stamps from Dee Gruenig's private collection a while ago but I got home and felt stuck. Well, I decided to challenge myself today and use my fun stamps. It looked a little flat so I used my 3D Crystal Lacquer on the Fiesta image.

Trying Something New

I got a hot tip today from Sarah on her blog, Kindred Spirits.  She learned from another blogger about Windows Live Writer. It's an easy way to update your blog. You can download it here for free. So, this post is an experiment using my new toy: Windows Live Writer.  My favorite feature so far is that it does spell check as you go. And, I like that I don't have to have everything in a bunch of different windows that I have to bounce to and from. Check it out.

Polish Pottery Insprired Card

I have been thinking about primary colors lately. And, I love Polish pottery so this is my tribute to both. I don't know who makes the image but I colored it with my Marvey markers. The paper is by the Paper Studio and the ribbon was a Hobby Lobby buy. I got a little crazy with some doodles around the image border after my mum told me that my card "needed a little something". This card is 4.25" x 5.5".

French Fashion Card

I bought this paper in Paris, France at a scrapbook store called Pariscrap. It is from DDDesigns77. It has French fashion words and images on one side and polka dots on the other. The stamp is from Sunday International. I added a black feather from a feather boa I had laying around the house and a button in the left corner. This is my interpretation of sketch number 16 on the Sketch This Cards blog. The card is 5" x 7".

Evidence of my addiction

I've been swapping cards and tags for about 3 years now. I started at Papercrafts Magazine and now I'm mostly at the Stamp Shack. I have a tough time parting with the cards and tags that I've accumulated over the years so I have a huge collection. The first picture is the 194 cards I've collected and the second picture shows the 140 tags and ATC's in my collection. I have used some and a month ago I gave away 40 cards to some missionaries so they could write home. Other than that, I keep them stored in my card drawer. Do you hoard your cards too? If yes, how do you store them? If not, how do you part with them?

Quick Baby Card

I love the work of all the French artists on Two Peas. I've noticed that a lot of them use paint in their layouts so this is my attempt to use paint on a card. I cut out the Stampin Up New Little Someone image (thanks Renee)and used Sticky Doos to pop it up. The paper is Paper Pizazz. I've had it a while and just today decided it would work for a baby card.

Something Cool and Something Fresh

I made a couple of quick cards today. I was going for a cool, Harley Davidson look with a cuttlebugged chrome background on the Snoopy card. The image was a gift from my friend Kim. The embossed bg was a gift from Jan.
The plumeria card was made from an image from Debbie. I just colored it with Prisma and Crayola pencils and added a couple of plumeria images that I cut out and colored. The little plumeria stamp was a prize from Sarah for a Stamp Shack contest.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Today is my first day as a blogger. I've been resisting for quite some time now. I've even made the statement, "I'm not blog-worthy" a time or two. Well, today with a little nudging, I've made the leap and started a blog. Thanks for checking our We Grow By Our Dreams. Look for some blog candy (aka sweet dreams) and some fun stuff in the future.
