Some Earth Day Cards

Good news-my laptop works again. I have a lot of stuff to share with you. For now, these are some of the cards that I created for other justjohanna Design Team members' Earth Day challenges. This was for Mandy's organic stamping challenge. I used a clementine half stamped in orange paint for the card base. Addes orange ribbon and justjohanna thank you sentiment. My niece and I also made a couple of other backgrounds using celery and apples. They aren't cards yet.
I made this card for Debbie's go green and Cathrine's embrace nature challenges. I did a crayon rub over lemon leaves (mmmm it smelled like lemons) and then stamped over that with justjohanna Shrubbery and added leaf ribbon and justjohanna thank you sentiment.
I went a little out there for the Kim's challenges. For Kim H's paper or plastic challenge I cut out the tomato and butterfly from a grocery bag. For Kim S's newspaper challenge, I stamped justjohanna lacy border on a newspaper ad for cars and cut it out for the border.

As promised, the amazing spring journal from Tammy

Last week I promised I'd show pictures of the amazing journal that my Spring Journal Swap partner, Tammy Lucik made for me. Pictures don't do it justice, it is really a work of art, full of texture, wonderful inspiration and beauty.

On the right, you can see some of the detail that Tammy put into the cover.

The inside is also decorated. The front inside has inspirational words and the back inside cover has a pocket with a vintage postcard.

Even the back is pretty. She also included a really sweet note and a built in bookmark. It's a golden butterfly on a ribbon. I am really in love with my new journal. Thanks Tammy for all the love you put into creating it for me. And, thank you Heather from the Speckled Egg for hosting the Spring Journal swap.

Top Secret Challenge: Reuse Security Envelopes

The contest is over but I would still love to see more creations made from recycled security envelopes. If you make something, please post a link here for me to admire.

For your challenge, make a card, ATC, journal page, tag, whatever using security envelopes.

For this sample I used 3 different secutity envies, Making Memories brad and sticker, justjohanna Lacy Circle Medium, and Target Dollar Spot rinestone brads.

Blue security envies (inside and out), red sparke embossing powder, justjohanna Flora Hugabundous and Thank You, blue and white cardstock and a red sparkle card from DCWV.

This is just a fun one using the window from the security envie, justjohanna Ghost Bird and Vines and some mummy ribbon.

After you make your card load it to either your blog or to the justjohanna gallery. Then, come back here and leave me a link to either your blog post or your jj gallery posting. You have until midnight Pacific time Sunday. Then I will randomly draw a winner of the limited edition justjohanna stamp seen here:

And, everyone who plays in any of the challanges will be entered to win grand prizes!
one winner will receive $250 in justjohanna stamps
one winner will receive $50 in justjohanna stamps
five winners will receive a 25% discount coupon when they place a justjohanna order

Also please go to THIS LINK, which is the justjohanna forum that will take you directly to the Earth Day celebration.

Sweet Chick Journal Set

Don't you love swaps? This month, I was able to participate in a Spring Journal Swap hosted by Heather at the Speckled Egg. On the left is my creation. What's more springy than a little chick? In addition to the altered composition book, I also made her a matching card and tag/bookmark.

Items used: Images from children's book, vintage sheet music, justjohanna stamps (Michelle's Small Scroll, Lacy Border, Floral Florish Left), Martha Stewart paper lace, rick rack, acrylic paint, Distress Inks and Mod Podge.
I'll show you tomorrow the totally gorgeous creation my swap partner, Tammy made me. It is awesome!

A Very Sweet Gift

I've been dying to share pictures of my birthday gift from Kim for a while now. Kim is such a talented artist and a really sweet friend. I love my gift. First up is an adorable altered composition notebook. It has the most delicious cupcake on the from. Yum is right. I'm on a campaign to convince Kim to write a book on collage. She is the master.

Next up is the awesome card. The cupcake image is on a coaster that has a really cool background technique. Yum again.

Kim is an amazing solderer (is that a word?) She makes the most gorgeous pendants and other creations using lead-free solder. I love my Paris pendant. I was so excited when I unwrapped it. She somehow found a picture of my beloved chocolate lab. On the back is a sweet strawberry on French text. Sorry about my awful, blurry pictures. I don't think my macro setting is very good. Thanks again Kim. Have a great day everyone.

Sparkly Wreath: Jolee's (from a Christmas pack)

Purple Love

I guess I'm in a purple mood. I made 2 purple cards. The first one is a 4.25 x 4.25 square card. I love the sparkly birdy paper from Die Cuts With a View. I stamped justjohanna Nest With Eggs with purple ink and added clear Stickles to the eggs. It's on a pop dot on a purple oval punch out that I punched holes in along the edge and added some polka dot ribbon.

I've seen various versions of the tea card using the justjohanna I Love Tea stamp. This is my quick and easy version. I stamped the image twice: once on lavender paper and once on turquoise paper. Then, I just cut the mug and handle freehanded and cut out the sentiment on the bottom. Then, from the turquoise paper, I swirl punched the steam and heart punched out the word tea.

Funky Garden

We are still playing mind games with the mystery critter in the garden. So, I made this whimsical view of my garden to de-stress. I only used one stamp: justjohanna Priscilla le chef for the mushrooms and the little designs in the sky.

The mushrooms are her hat stamped with different inks on different papers and added some sparkles. The sky has her tail and whiskers. Paper: DCWV and Basic Grey. Punched sun, cloud and butterflies. Flower brads from the Target Dollar Spot.

Cupcake Flowers

There is a fun challenge going on over at Scrap Your Crap this week. It's called the Felt up Challenge.

I used justjohanna Cupcake Row for the centers of the felt flowers and the clouds. I finished it off with rat tail stems, Prima leaves, DCWV light blue paper and felt flowers from the craft store dollar bin.
